The 2022 Autumn Nations Series (ANS), also known as the Autumn Internationals among rugby fans, took place between Saturday 30 October and Sunday 21 November 2022, over four rounds of matches.
In Autumn 2022, there were 23 men’s rugby matches being played across both Europe and North America.
The teams involved during 2022 included England, Argentina, Japan, Italy, Samoa, Scotland, Fiji, Wales, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, France and Australia. Interestingly, the famous Barbarians also took on an All Blacks XV on November 13th at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Why are Autumn Internationals on Amazon Prime?
Amazon Prime TV secured the rights to the Autumn Internationals in 2021 and have done so again in 2022. Although it may be a frustration that it’s not on free-to-air TV like BBC or ITV, it could be seen as a positive move forward with rugby reaching new audiences and being brought into the modern era of online streaming. What is the Autumn Nations Series in Rugby?
The Autumn Nations Series is a group of rugby union test matches between several international teams, including those from both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. It happens every year and acts as the ‘end of season’ tour for Southern Hemisphere nations and as somewhat of a precursor for the Six Nations competition for the Northern Hemisphere nations.
