My Experience: Ringside Pro Fitness Synthetic Leather Boxing Glove (Training)
As an amateur boxer, I purchased the Ringside Pro Fitness Synthetic Leather Boxing Glove, a “Training” glove which is suitable for hitting the pads (and was also fine for a bit of light sparring). These training gloves were the absolute best options I’ve ever used – I purchased them back in 2017 and I’m still using them to this day.
The design is sleek and striking, and I had multiple compliments from others in the gym – which is always nice! I paid £65 for 14oz gloves as a 60kg boxer. They’ve lasted extremely well and they’re actually a lot more affordable than they look. If you ask me, they look premium and flashy, and you’d expect the price to be much higher.
I think Ringside gloves are perfect for the average amateur boxer in the UK and beyond, especially if you’re on a budget and don’t want to splash out on a more premium brand. My first pair of boxing gloves were from RDX, and I must say I much preferred these from Ringside.

- Cost: 5/5. Very affordable with a ‘premium’ look, including options for as low as £45.
- Fit: 4/5. A great fit. They fit perfectly for me as a 60kg-70kg boxer, even with hand wraps on. Slightly snug for those with bigger hands or thicker wraps.
- Durability: 5/5. Had my pair for over 8 years and they’re as good as new – literally, check the video!
- Design: 4/5. I came for the design and stayed for the durability and feel. But the design is second to none for amateur boxers. There are better options out there for professionals, hence the 4/5 score.
- Feel: 4/5. Breathable interior, good flexibility, and a decent faux leather exterior. So easy to wear. I love the feel of the thumb particularly.

Maybe not ideal for complete beginners (you can go with cheaper alternatives or even just use the gloves at the club or gym), but for those who have been training for some time, these are perfect.
